GRADING SCALE

NUMERICAL GRADING 

Grades are reported in accordance with Texas state law as follows:

Academic Subjects

Classification (year)

  90–100 = Excellent 

E = Excellent 

 

  0–5.5 

  Grade  9 (Freshman) 

  80–89 = Good; above average 

S = Satisfactory 

 

  6–11.5 

  Grade 10 (Sophomore) 

  75–79 = Satisfactory; average 

P = Poor; below average 

 

  12–17.5 

  Grade 11 (Junior) 

  70–74 = Passing; below average 

U = Unsatisfactory 

 

  18 or more 

  Grade 12 (Senior) 

  Below 70 = Unsatisfactory; failing 

       


 

GRADE POINT AVERAGE (GPA)

Your GPA is a number that shows how well you're doing in your classes overall. Think of it like your academic scorecard. Each class you take gives you a grade, and that grade gets turned into points:

REPORT CARDS

Each grading cycle will count for 30% of a student’s final semester average. The final exam will count for 10% of the final semester average.
